Motivational Talks
Aim: The aim of motivational talks is simple, to inspire young girls to recognise their dreams and the skills they have to achieve their desired goals. The motivational talks will consist of a series of lecture like talks that feature prominent individuals within the community. The aim is to have real people working in real positions across industries to promote the potential they carry and the possibilities available to them through inspiration from the talks. Furthermore, the aim will be to encourage young women to dream big and explore the opportunities that are available to them. The motivational talks will then be followed by a QandA session.
Public Speaking/Debating Workshops
Aim: The aim of the public speaking and debating workshops is to skill up the young women with the ability to publically express and eloquently articulate themselves in matter which exhibits confidence relating to global, national and local events. The workshops will up skill the young girls in their verbal articulation and more importantly in their self-confidence to speak publically.
Poetry/Creative Writing
Aim: The aim of poetry and creative writing is to teach young women to express their emotions and personal issues in a creative way where they can share with their friends and peers. This exercise will enable young women to effectively communicate their thoughts and emotions and broaden their imagination and have confidence to perform. Once enough confidence is built, the young women will them enter The Bankstown poetry Slam and perform the poems they’ve worked on.
Art Workshops
Aim: Young women want to explore their creative side. This workshops will allow young women to paint, create sculptures and artworks, enabling them to explore talents which they have yet to discover. Running art workshops will also be taught as a form of self-expression on personal or community issues shared across communities.
Drama (Plays)
Drama will be for those whom wish to build self confidence in a fun and exciting way. The drama workshops will create a space where young girls will role play various roles and will step-by-step develop their own production play within the group. The workshops will ultimately skill young women with the ability to be confident and discover their performing talents.
Music lessons?
New Media Workshops (Videography)
New media workshops will focus on visually recording predictions that display social issues affecting communities across Australia. One of the first videos to be produced will address the silence surrounding the human rights abuses in Gaza. The young girls will put together the production either through re-enactment, interviews etc… and will shoot and edit the videos. This will offer the young women new skills in how to create videos that have the possibility of going viral.
